First Of The Season
Saturday saw the first junior medal at Avington Park. The weather really wasn't the best but nothing could dampen the spirts of the competing juniors. It was wonderful to see the juniors winter training pay off. There was some fantastic golf on display but most importantly everyone enjoyed themselves.
Congratulations to the winners, to all those who competed and a big thank you to all the parents and volunteers.
Winners:
Black Caps - Josh Mulchay
White Caps - Cody Roberts
Girls - Dracey McCrossan

Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changes to the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their Rules Modernisation initiative has been underway for a few years now and this is the next stage in that process. The aim is to not only make the Rules easier to understand, but also to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
Please spare a couple of minutes to complete our survey, which gives you the chance to have your say on the proposed changes.
We've picked out some of the most significant Rules changes for you to digest in this survey, before giving you the chance to say whether you agree or disagree with each of them. It'll be great to know your thoughts.
Have your say here.
Proper Grub
We are not your average driving range, which is why we don't offer the standard fayre of a typical greasy spoon. We are in Winchester after all so it's posh food all the way. A top tip that I use to tell if the food is posh enough for my sophisticated pallet is to look at how they have written the menu;
If they describe how they have cooked it:
e.g. Lamb cooked 3 ways, braise, grill, sauté. - Posh
If they simply list it:
Burger and Chips - Not Posh
Where am I going with this I hear you ask? Well the Bistro has their monthly Super Club on Thursday 23rd March. Check out the menu below and be reassured of its 'poshness' and quality of offerings.
