Free Fitting Day for the new Calloway Rogue Range

The new Calloway Rogue range is coming to Winchester Golf Academy and on Friday 2nd March we’ll be offering FREE demo fittings for our customers.

Get Back On Course – New for March 2018!

How often do you wish you could get some advice whilst you’re on the course? Our new programme ‘Back on Course’ might be the one you’ve been waiting for and it’s coming soon this March!

Covering three sessions at Winchester Golf Academy and three sessions on the course at Avington Park Golf Club with our PGA Professionals Dan Seymour and Danny Fisher, ‘Back On Course’ will help you make the transition from the range and show you techniques for course management, rules, club selection and pre-shot routine to improve your long and short game.

Target Practice

Do you ever wish your iron play could be more consistent? Your struggles might be down to how you practice. If you don’t currently replicate on-course scenarios in your practice, try these tips and challenges.

Range practice

Pick a target AND then swap
All ranges will have some form of a target at varying distances you can use to aim at, but a common mistake we see golfers make is hitting to the same one for 20 or 30 balls in a row. The problem here is that on the course you only get one chance at every shot, so you need to try and replicate this during your practice by utilising different targets on the range and swapping frequently. If you only have one target set yourself a challenge:

Take 10 balls and see how many you can get to finish within a certain distance from the flag

Not only will this bring out your competitive instinct, but the next time you practice you can try to beat your previous score to measure your improvement and practice under pressure. Give this a go and let us know how you get on.

Are you looking to find more distance from a better ball flight? This Lynx Black Cat driver can give us the tools to do just that thanks to its Weight Bar System that allows us to put more weight at the front or the back of the sole to either reduce spin for a lower flight or increase it for a higher trajectory.
