The wait is almost over!

We’re making great progress with the installation of Toptracer Range, so far the cabling is in and the next step will be to install screens and sensors.

Are you correctly gapped?

How many times have you heard of ‘gapping’ yet you’re still left confused as to what it exactly entails, and how it would benefit you? Here we break it down in its simplest form…

A poorly gapped golfer

Gapping explained
When we speak about gapping we are referring to the distance between each club in your bag. Bad gapping, as showcased with the red arrows above, leaves you with uneven or large distances between clubs, often of over 20 or 30 yards. In contrast, good gapping would see you have equal gaps between clubs that are no bigger than 15 yards.

Benefits of good gapping
The most obvious benefit of good gapping is not hitting two clubs similar distances, as illustrated by the hybrid and 5-wood above. If you find yourself between clubs on a shot, having equal gaps will also mean you are much closer with your next club, so you won’t have to manufacture shorter/longer swings or hit soft/hard shots.

It's 14 clubs for a reason

This week marks the start of a series of articles where we focus on making sure that you are getting the very most out of the clubs in your bag. A key way to do this is to look at your set as one, rather than breaking it down into woods, irons and wedges.

What does your set look like?
As you know, we’re big advocates of custom fitting for golfers of all standards. Many of you have taken advantage of this and are now hitting the ball further and straighter than you ever have before.

While this is fantastic, if you’re hitting your woods further you may have been left with a fiddly gap to your longest iron; likewise, if your new irons are a club longer then you will inevitably have a gap after your PW.

Look at your clubs as a whole
It’s only by looking at your set as a whole that you’ll be able to spot and react to any gaps, meaning you’ll have a club for every shot you could face on the course.
