Georgia Hall wins the British Open What a fantastic achievement for Bournemouth-based lady golfer Georgia Hall, when she became only the third British winner since the event became a Major championship in 2001. Georgia said in her interview with the BBC; "I couldn't believe so many young girls and boys were watching me, wanting a picture or an autograph," she said. “Hopefully I can encourage a lot of young girls out there to take up the game. I want to be a good role model for young girls in Britain.” The 22 year old started playing golf at 7 years old! That's actually the same age as I started playing and look at me now! Junior Golf is at the heart of everything we do at Winchester Golf Academy and we are always looking to recruit more young superstars like Georgia and our Girls Go Golf sessions are the perfect way to introduce a youngster to the game.
