Change of hours on 15th August 2019 …

Please note that the driving range and the bistro will be closed from 1-5pm on Thursday 15th August for a private event.

We will be open in the morning from 9am until 1pm and we will reopen after the event from 5pm onwards for evening practice as usual.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Three new programmes for ladies golf…

Ladies golf @ WGA

We’re excited to launch three new programmes for ladies at Winchester Golf Academy.

We have something for everyone - a 1-2-1 gapping clinic for competent players, a workshop on course confidence, and a brand new six-week course for nervous novices. If you’d like more information just give us a call on 01962 885254, or if you know someone who would enjoy the chance to get started or develop key areas of their game, please spread the word.

Play a different course every month…

Society Days are a great way to play a different course each month whilst benefiting from a discounted green fee. The new dates for the Winchester Golf Society are now available and we’d love as many of you as possible to join us.

Society members meet at 10am on the day for coffee and breakfast rolls, first tee is 11am. We'll take care of all the arrangements and set you off in threes or fours. £25 joining fee includes welcome pack, and WGS Adidas embroidered shoe bag.

Junior news

September start for junior programmes…

Without wanting to wish the Summer holidays away, we’re already planning ahead and looking forward to getting our junior programmes back up and running in September. This term we’ve extended the Girls Go Golf and Passport Programme courses to run for the full term giving our juniors more time to progress and offering even better value for money per session.

Our Girls Go Golf for girls age 8-15 years, starts on Wednesday 11th September and runs until Wednesday 18th December (excluding half term 30th Oct), and costs £110.

And our new Passport Programme starts on Thursday 12th September and runs until Thursday 19th December – cost is also £110 per term.

Plus, new this Autumn, we have created another age tier at a different time which means we can tailor the content of each session to ensure it is even more age and ability appropriate.

4.30-5.30pm for 5-7 yrs
5.30-6.30pm for 8-10yrs
7.00-8.00pm for 11-14 yrs

Variety is the spice of life

Whatever happened to having a ‘textbook’ swing? If you were to watch golf on TV you’d see all sorts of different swings that have propelled these golfers to the top of the world, and the same can be said on the greens too.
