Firstly, we hope you enjoyed the festive period as much as possible. Secondly, following the Prime Minister's announcement earlier this week, playing golf is no longer permitted in England. We will endeavour to keep you updated with the latest news throughout the current lockdown, as well as give you a sneak peek at some exciting products that will be available to purchase once we're allowed to reopen.

Academy news

We are closed...

We are sorry to say that following the latest Government announcement, Winchester Golf Academy and The Kitchen @ WGA are closed from Tuesday, 5 January 2021 until further notice. We will continue to update you here, on www.winchestergolf.co.uk and via Facebook and Instagram.

Lessons, Private Bay Bookings and Custom Fittings

We know that many of you have bookings with us. The credit for these, where they have been paid for in advance or part of a package, will be carried forward for when we re-open. You may have already received emails showing that we have deleted your current appointments and that we have moved your credit (shown in minutes) to your ProAgenda account. If you have any questions or would prefer a refund, please email garyb@winchestergolf.co.uk.

We have not yet amended any current appointments for custom fittings, and the PGA Pros will be in contact with you to rearrange these.

Golf Club Orders

We are in touch with the manufacturers to confirm whether their operations will continue during this lockdown, and we will update those customers with current orders as soon as we have more information for you.

Stay Safe

All that remains for us to say is that we simply could not have got through 2020 without all your support and patience, and we are looking forward to better times very soon when we can welcome you back. In the meantime, please stay safe and stay strong, and keep up those practice swings at home!

Something to work towards

Come rain or shine, golfers never need an excuse to dust off the cobwebs and get onto the course. So, with lots of golf to (hopefully) look forward to in 2021, there's no better time to conjure up some golf-based resolutions for the year ahead.

Making resolutions

You may have decided you’d like to reduce the number of three-putts you have each round (don't we all!) or to get less frustrated when you hit a bad shot. Whatever your resolutions are, we're here to help in any way possible.

Golfing from the get-go

We want to help you enjoy your golf as much as possible in 2021, as we do every other year for that matter. The more we enjoy the game, the more likely we are to dust off the clubs with regularity and take to the course.

Yes, playing great golf is a sure-fire way enjoying ourselves more but unfortunately it isn't that simple.

One big hurdle that we need to overcome - especially in the winter - is the weather. If it’s cold out there, you’ll want to invest in two things: a warm but lightweight mid-layer and a pair of mittens! Both of which can be worn when you're out for a leisurely walk anywhere.

When it comes to the rain, a waterproof golf jacket is essential that not only protects you from any downpours but allows you to swing the golf club without any restriction at the same time.

Enjoyment comes down to our preparation, both of our golf game and in our clothing/equipment. So, if there's anything you want or need, send us a message.
